Pioneers and Settlers

Sermons/Stories: Study of Revelation
Stories, Poems, Teachings
Your Bible may say the “Revelation of St. John Divine” but what we will be studying will be the Revelation of Jesus Christ.

Remember, we are studying the Book of Revelation, not Revelations! This book is also known as the Apocalypse – meaning the unveiling.

John uses his own name four times in connection to this book, Revelation 1:1,4,9,22:8.

Revelation is a book about the end of the earth and Satan as we know it.

Sermons/Stories: Psalm 23: The Lord the Shepherd of His People
Stories, Poems, Teachings
Well, we all probably know this Psalm.   This is one of the scriptures that is burned into my brain.  I have repeated it many times lying awake in my bed, probably thousands of times.  It has brought me great peace.

Sermons/Stories: THE CHURCH. JESUS' CROWNING GLORY!
Stories, Poems, Teachings
By Mike Secor

Upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it. Jesus, Matt 16:18

Hello everyone,

Jesus loves the church! It’s His passion! It’s His obsession! His full commitment is with the building of His church. His ultimate plan at the close of this age, in chapter 19 of the book of Revelation is to marry the church!

Sermons/Stories: My Tribute to Jason, by Mike Secor
Stories, Poems, Teachings
My Tribute to Jason, by Mike Secor

I first heard mention of his name in the late spring of 2001. It was in August of that year that I first met him. 6 years and one month later, I was standing over his casket to bid him farewell…to tell him with my thoughts "Thank you, thank you, thank you. You’re the man!" This tribute is the story of God’s power to redeem and transform.

Sermons/Stories: God Loves People More Than He Hates Sin
Stories, Poems, Teachings
God loves people more than He hates sin.
What about you?

By Ed Pentico

Jesus says so.  He wants to save His children from death.  And it is undeserved love that conquers death.  This love is a powerful tool towards salvation.

Jesus came because God loves people more than He hates sin.

Yokes and Burdens

You have just plopped down on your comfy couch with a hot bowl of buttered popcorn, the T.V. controller in your hand and your cuddly spouse holding the other when you get a call.  You pick up the phone (at the same time thinking you probably shouldn't have) and on the other end is a best friend who is seriously lobbying for baby-sitting services.

Wheat and Tares
Paul Rapp

It was well past midnight, again.  I was making some final adjustments on a letter that I had spent hours laboring over.  It wasn't the first time this issue has stuck out at me like an unsightly and embarrassing blemish, just daring to be ignored.  The letter I was about to send was to a Christian brother that I had known for several years.

Paradox: a statement or idea that seems contradictory, unbelievable, or absurd - but that may be true in fact. (Webster's College Dictionary)

Divine Tension
By Paul Rapp

Pastor Dave describes certain situations, or ideals, as being in "Divine tension".  This is that holy tug-of-war we can find ourselves in while on our way to discovering truth and the will of God.
